Christmas Cookies!

I really suck at making sugar cookies. I don't know why, but they always turn out tasting awful. I attempted again this year and while Adam says they are good, I don't believe him. Well, they look good at least. I know Santa will love them tomorrow night! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Playing in the Snow!

I have been slowly accumulating snow stuff for Reese and Noah over the last few weeks. Reese has been begging to play in the snow and I felt so bad becasue she was missing boots and snow gloves so I wouldn't let her go out and play. Well, she's still missing the snow gloves, but she has regular gloves I let her go out in.

Seriously could they be any cuter?

Gingerbread Houses!

So yesterday I spent 7 hrs baking gingerbread houses with my mom. By the time we got done, our feet hurt, our fingers were burned, the kitchen was a mess, and we were just plain exhausted. Today we went over to my mom's to decorate the houses. Adam was very meticulous about his house and took about 4 hrs to do his! But it turned out great. I helped Noah decorate a sleigh and Reese did her house all by herself. I was so proud of her. Ok, so here are the pictures of all our fun!!! Enjoy!!!

What a cute gingerbread village huh? By the way, those other houses were my Mom's, Markham's, Kathy and John's, Angie's, TJ's, Brandon's, and Jessie's. I love the holidays. It is so great to take part in traditions and be with family! We miss those who can't be with us and we hope to see you soon! We love you!

I did it!

Well, after a whole semester of putting it off, I finished Goldman Sachs: The Culture of Success tonight. I had to read it for my Financial Institutions class and while it had some dry moments, I enjoyed the book overall. If you are interested at all in the history of investment banking and the ridiculous amount of money that can be made, I recommend it.

P.S. Thanks to Amazon for the picture.

The Perfect Shoe Tie

So, Reese has been working on learning to tie her shoes for awhile now, but she couldn't quite get the pull through step. Well, tonight while Adam and Noah were returning Wall-E and Tinkerbell (both excellent movies), I thought it would be a good time to practice. The proof is in the video!!

Yea Reese!! We are so proud of you and we love you!!

West Side Story

Adam, the kids, and I made a journey down to Payson yesterday to see Adam's little sister Anne (aka Bananas) in West Side Story. She was one the "The Jets" girls. Adam was in lots of plays and muscials when he was in high school, so he was excited to see the legacy continued on by his sister, even if it was at a different high school (they just built Salem Hills High School that half of Payson and half of Spanish Fork now go to). Our favorite character, besides Anne of course, was the sister Anita, she was very funny.

S0, this last picture is my favorite. It was freezing last night, so I had my coat and scarf, but Adam had nothing, so I told him to wear my scarf out to the car :) Then, I was getting ready to unlock the car, so I asked him to hold my purse...the result is priceless...

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Barnett (aka Mom and Dad) for watching the kids so we could have a night out at the "theater"! We love you!! And great job Bananas!!

Disney on Ice

About a week and a half ago we went to see Disney on Ice. It was so fun to see the kids reactions. Reese dressed up like Sleeping Beauty and I gave her "Sleeping Beauty hair". Noah got pretty restless by the second half, but he made it through it, wearing his Mickey Mouse hat the whole time.

It was so fun to have my mom, Kathy, John, and Baby Ryan with us. By the end of the night we were all exhausted, but we had a great time!

Leaves!

It has been so nice to have a backyard that the kids can play in now. For those of you who don't know, we completely tore up and remodeled our backyard this year. So, the kids have been playing outside in the leaves. They rake them all up in a pile by themselves and jump in them. I don't mind as long as I'm not the one who has to keep raking them!!

They play so wonderful together, with the exception of the occasional hair-pulling by Noah. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful children.

This really is my favorite time of year. I had a great Halloween, birthday, and now we are into the Holiday Season! On I school note, I am offically registered for my last semester of school. I can't believe it! I never thought this day would come. Only 5 months to graduation!

We hope everyone is keeping warm in this cold weather!

HALLOWEEN!!

Happy Halloween everyone! In the afternoon Holly and James came over to paint and carve pumpkins with us. It was a lot of fun and it was Noah's first time painting, so he had a blast.

We think the pumpkins turned out pretty well. Adam and James carved theirs and Holly and I painted ours.

For Halloween this year Reese decided she wanted to be a cheerleader. She was so adorable. She got to wear her costume to dance class and preschool which was so fun. Noah was Superman. The day I bought his costume I tried it on him and he looked at me and said, "No want it Super Hero." It ws so funny. So we hid the costume in his closet until Halloween. He still didn't want to wear it, so we told him he couldn't get any candy unless he wore his Superman costume. Needless to say he put it on quickly after that. The kids had so much fun Trick-or-Treating!! Everytime we started walking up to a house Noah would yell "Trick-or-Treat! TRICK-OR-TREAT!!!!" until they came to the door. He also kept saying "It's Halloween, I'm not scared!" Reese really enjoyed Trick-or-Treating too. She wanted to go to as many houses as possible. Unfortunately the rain cut it short, but they still got plenty of candy.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween as much as we did.

Jason Mraz!!!!

Ok, so I had one of the funnest night ever on Tuesday! Adam and I have been waiting to see Jason Mraz for a good 4 years now. I even tried to win tickets on the radio station to see him in Hawaii and I was caller number 8 of 10...that was a major heartbreaker. BUT he finally came to SLC and we got to see him!! So excuse me while I obsess a little but it was totally amazing and fun and just incredible! Ok, so here's some video and sorry about the scratchy noises. We were so close to the stage, it was awesome.

So the last video Adam didn't get very much of the song, but it's an awesome song, you should listen to the whole thing!

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying the fall! More posts to come...Halloween, Fun with Leaves, and My Birthday!!!

Witches and Windows?

WITCHES NIGHT OUT!!

So, on Friday Holly and I went to Gardner Village for Witches Night Out. It's a fun night for women to dress up as witches and just enjoy being out without the kids. So, James and Adam watched Noelle, Reese, and Noah, and we went out to enjoy the festivities. We didn't really dress up, we just wore witch hats, but there were some women who were totally into it. We saw Glinda the Good Witch, Malefasent, the Queen from Snow White, and the Fauna and Merry Weather from Sleeping Beauty. There were some pretty elaborate costumes. It was so much fun and I definately plan to go all out next year!

JOHNNY AND THE WINDOW?

This morning Noah came running into our room singing "Johnny and the Sprites, did you see one? Johnny and the Sprites!" It was so stinking cute that I wanted to get it on video. So, tonight I was trying to coax him to sing, which I usually do by singing the words wrong. I started singing, "Johnny and the banana?" and "Johnny and the monkey?" Noah replied each time with "Noooo" so I said, "Can you sing it right" His reply was, "Johnny and the Noah! Johnny and the Mama! Johnny and the Daddy! Johnny and the Window!" Johnny and the window? Adam and I could not stop laughing. Noah has really started talking a lot lately and him joking with us just made Adam and me feel like he is growing up so fast. We just can't get enough of our adorable little man!

P.S. Incase you don't know what Johnny and the Sprites is, it's a kid's show on the Disney Channel. Here is a video of the song...
