Oh My Heck!

So, we went to the doctor today and when we got there he was delivering a baby. The receptionist asked if I wanted to come back in a hour or reschedule. Well, since I've been waiting to find out if this baby is a boy or a girl for the past 4 weeks and I knew I was going to find out today, there was no way I was going to wait for another day. We had Reese with us so she could see the baby so we decided to go to McDonalds to let her play. Then they called and said it would be another 20 more minutes, so we got Reese's haircut (she looks very cute). I was so nervous and excited and having to wait so long just made the it worse. Finally! after almost 2 hrs of waiting we had the ultrasound, fully expecting to hear it's a boy. After about 5 mins the doctor said that he is 99% sure that we are having a GIRL! I'm still trying to get used to the idea of having a girl, but make no mistake I'm very, very excited! I can't wait to get all Reese's baby clothes out again, cuz they are sooo adorable.

So, below is the ultrasound of Camryn Eileen (the spelling is still in the air...maybe Cameryn?) She's a very active girl kicking, waving her arms, and moving around :) It's over 5 mins long, but she's very adorable!

The Dreaded Flu!

The once was a boy who had the flu; he was so sick he didn't know what to do...

Never having had the flu in our house before, I have made it a habit not to get yearly flu shots for either me or the kids...that may change from now on, although probably not for me, just the kids :) So, on the night before our Valentine's Eve date, Noah started to get sick...crap. The next day, he slept all day and even though he was so sick, my mom said I should bring the kids over anyway. So Adam and I were able to go to The Melting Pot and to a movie for an early Valentine's date. We had so much fun even though Adam was still feeling kinda sick. Over the weekend Noah got worse and worse with a fever and coughing and just not acting like himself (BTW, Adam, Reese, and I were all sick too, but Noah seemed to be going down hill the fastest). After Noah slept from 4 pm yesterday until 10:30 am this morning, I decided it was time to take him to the doctor. When we got to the doctor Noah's temperature was still almost 102, he threw up all over himself and me when they did the strep test, and he fell asleep in my arms which was something he didn't even do when he was a baby. After waiting what seemed like an eternity, they did a flu test...sure enough, it was positive. My poor baby has the flu.

When we got home, I gave him Tylenol and turned on Cars for him to watch, then out I went to snow blow the driveway for the second time today. Since Adam is also recovering from the flu, it has been my job to snow blow. When I came in the garage door I noticed Noah wasn't on the couch watching his movie, so I began to take off my coat and snow pants. As I turned around I saw my poor buddy curled up in the computer chair, fast asleep. Thank goodness for the snow, as much as I hate plowing it, because classes were cancelled tonight and I can stay home and take care of my baby :(

Hope everyone is well and the flu is staying far away from your home!!!

The New Car

So after the millionth time of not being able to make it up my driveway and barely being able to drive up my own street I had had enough! It was time to get an AWD vehicle. Not only that but with the Civic there was no way that we could fit three car seats in the back seat. So our quest began. Now I've been looking at SUVs and such for at least a year wanting to upgrade, but I turned to my husband and his superb research skills to find a safe crossover SUV. Thus, the Buick Enclave...(the GMC Acadia is exactly the same, but I leaned towards the look of the Enclave) After test driving a few used ones from private sellers we went to the dealership, and thanks to the current market, we were able to score a new one for the same price! I can't decide what my favorite feature is, but I think it is probably the back up camera and sensors. I was terrified of getting an SUV because of how big it is and how difficult they are to see behind when you are backing up. I feel so safe now and if you don't get the navigation system, the camera shows up in the rear view mirror, which is totally awesome. Although, we did get navigation :) So, our camera is broken, so I don't have actual pictures, but here are the generic ones...

These are the back seat. There are 7 total seats. I love the captain seats, it makes it easy to get to the back. However, the seats do slide forward to easy back seat access also.

My favorite was when I asked Reese where she was going to sit in the new car and she said "I want to sit next to the new baby!" and I said "Oh yeah, that sounds like a good place." and then she goes "Yeah...even if the baby is a boy..." I love how excited Reese is for this baby, she asks so many cute questions. I just can't believe how big she is getting. It seems like just yesterday she was my little "Boogies" (I called her that because when she was born she always had green 'boogies' in her eyes). All I have to say is she better stop growing. I occasionally let her put some powder and translucent eye shadow on when I'm getting ready and today on the way home from dance she goes, "Mom, I have an idea, how bout I just get my own makeup?" Yeah, we'll see :)
